Convince the insuance it's totaled so you can buy it back.

Thanks guys for all the support i took her to the body shop today and the guy walked around it and said her your estimate $1700.00 dollars and I am like dude, seriously do you even know what your doing? 1700 bucks that would barely buy me a bumber and hardware from Audi. Seriously come on. But thats what he wrote the quote for he said once he gets to take everything apart he'll give me a more accurate quote. He said it is far from being totaled. I still feel there is a lot more damage to be found the car dosen't drive right at all. She goes to the left pretty good and the right rear corner feels all bbound up almost like there is no suspension at all. so who knows whats going to happen. I'll keep you all posted and by the way I just hit the 90,000 mile marker yesterday on my way home. I am so worried that if he fixes it shes going to lose her turbos or something soon. Anyway Thanks again guys.


Katcoota - I painted the wheels myself I used a krylon enamel. a lot of people thing they have been powder coated soi just tell everyone they have.I did my headlights, side markers and grill with the same stuff. It works great and has a good finish.

 

Glad to see you are OK Doug, and glad to see the estimate wasnt as bad as expcted. I would say you might have some suspension tweaking to do, and an alignment for sure, but other then that I hope its nothing major besides cosmetic. I have seen my fair share of wrecks, and by the looks of things you did no or very little frame damage, and all that needs fixed are you bumper (need a new one) and the piece below the tailight, which I think they can bendout and repaint. You might as well get tinted tails and replace both why your at it

sounds like your car is just about due for a lot of maintanace and other work, so it may just be best if they cut you a check, you buy the car back, sell it for parts and buy a really nice S4...
