Dimming red display lights...

Does anyone know how to dim the red dash lights?

those two ***** up there by the tac and speed the right on turns left and right to dim the dash, of couse if you have the owners manual it says all this or search around i know it is out there.

On the B7 it's the + and - buttons up near the speedo. The trick is, the car needs to be running for it to work. Took me a while to figure that out.
