Default Diode Mod???

Ok, maybe some of you have seen the Diode Mod that a good amount of people are running. It consists of putting a special diode on the MAP sensor to limit the computer from seeing to much boost. Then you can turn the boost up using an MBC or EBC then letting the computer adapt to the extra boost.

My question is, does anyone know if this is possible on an S4 2.7T???

Thanks

Josh

NOPE, much smarter ECU. Only STG III guys run this way, with specialized software, to cut boost spikes, not for added boost.

Im going to disagree with 2ks4 here

As stage 2 you can get GIAC-x and run a standalone MBC (NOT paralell), leave the n75 electrically plugged in and get a Throttle Cut Defender (diode). This will let you juice out your k03's but they will probably blow significantly faster. There are plenty of people that have this on their S4's but it really only works with Giac-x. Im probably going to do it a week or 2 before i replace my turbos.

All of this makes me very interested... if you or anyone else has any more information about this please let me know. All details, or information as to where more details can be found, are greatly appreciated, thanks.

Heres the deal with this, running MBC/TDC will allow you to get a couple extra psi from your turbos. If you set the MBC to a higher boost that the turbos will provide, than they will just provide maximum boost that they can at the RPM. You can not do this on a stock car or even with some chips or you will get thrown into LIMP mode. GIACx programming will work best.

Normally a paralell setup is reccomended which really dosnt do much IMO (clips boost spikes..)

To run MBC + TCD you can take those T fittings out and run just an MBC from turbo to wastegate, leave the n75 electrically plugged in, loop a hose from the boost pressure to WG ctrl sides of the N75. The TCD once installed will trick the computer into thinking you have less boost so it dosnt cut throttle.

Things you need:
GIACx chip
TCD (diode)
MBC

This is bad for your turbos, you are running them at absolute maximum capacity alot of the time. Expect to blow them much faster. This is the sort of thing you **** around with when your K04's and inlets are sitting in your closet/garage. Your stock fueling also might not be able to keep up and you will run lean.
