I just got my new company car, an S4 cab 2007.
Before this car I had a 996 Carerra4 and a Bmw M3.
My expectations on this new car was quiet high.
I just have to say that I am very dissapointed. Its an A4 with a big engine....nothing more.
I choosed a manual transmission because I like to drive a car, but I regret that!
When I shift between 1st and 2nd gear its a big "Klonk" sound and the ESP turns the car into a tractor.
Only positive thing so far is the Bose stereo, its superb.

 

Cab's weigh more than the sedan and aren't as practical or handle nearly as good.

 

But the transmission and the ESP setting is the same or?

 

well ive driven an 05 cab.. and i had no big clunk..dont mean to be mean..but maybe youre not shifting it good..otherwise theres a problem there. With teh esp..just turn it off... if your driving hard..its gonna kick on and restrict you... just like any system like that

 

Sorry to hear you are disappointed....but honestly I would not expect the S4 Cab to compare to the 911 or the M3. I picture it to be a little more softer of a car.....something I'd like my gf to be driving.

 

Dont think my shifting is the problem, it worked fine with all other sports cars I have had and that the key...the S4 cab is not a sports car.
Its more of a comfortable cruiser.
I will get it back to the Audi garage for a check on the strange sound and leave the ESP off untill winter.
I love the looks of the car though, its 10 times more beautiful compered to the new 3 -series from BMW.
