Disappointing Nav System
Anybody else disappointed in the B7 nav system? There are very few points of interest and the routing sucks. I entered an address that was on a small secondary road which the system recognized, but I only got directions to the vicinity of the destination even though the road showed up on the map. Anything other than food, gas, or banking is nearly nonexistent for my town (Pensacola). I also have an Acura MDX which has many more points of interest and I get routing to any address I put in. Not to mention the interface is infinitely easier than the confounded rotary dial on my S4. Don't get me wrong, I love my Audi, but for the money I expected a much better nav system. If Acura can fit all this info on their DVD, why can't Audi?
The Audi system actually gets quite high praise from reviewers. After having it for 6 months, I can't imagine going back to nothing. It can be a pain in the butt on rural roads though, I agree with that. The NAV+ has a bit of a learning curve to it, but after a few days I was zipping through the pages pretty efficiently. Hopefully with the new Nav update that is going to be released in a few months will fix your problems.
It may be that the Audi system is average for a nav system. I know Acura has a very good system and maybe I'm just used to that. Like you said, I hope Navteq fixes a lot of these issues in the next update. I have already provided feedback to them.
