I just bought APR r1's. I think they're great and require zero maintenance.
Forge 007's are also very nice, however i constantly questioned whether or not one or both were sticking. Im not in love with the piston style and basically im neurotic and found myself removing them, clean, and oiling them anytime i felt like the car was underperforming.
The r1's are a little pricey but your paying for peace of mind and a great product.

I have 710Ns. I was on a budget as well. They're great, and they do the job. Browse the classifieds in the forums, I found 2 for $60, that were gently used. I'd go that route. Just because its an Audi, doesnt mean it HAS to be expensive.

I have heard hyperboost are the best but those are a little pricey.

It would be hard to call anything the best. It really depends on preference. I required ease of use, 0 maintenance, and performance. Eventually chose the R1.
However, i am not able to change spring rates.
It really comes down to preference.
