I have a 2001 S4. It's chipped with a K&N air filter, but that's it for engine performance. I want to buy some DV's. Anyone know what kind, if any, HP gains I can expect? And what kind I should get? Or should I just save for exhaust?

 

the only way ur gonna get hp gains is if your old dv's are locked up and dont work anymore

 

um u dont get performance from a DV at least i dont think so bc i dont feel it but boost is kept well with forgemotorsports DV and Baileys DV r good also.

 

YTea there will be no HP increase just smoother and better boost delivery... with your car being chipped under higher boost you will want performance Dv's or at least rebuildable ones.... The stock plactic ones are known to fail regularly when a car is pushing higher boost.

Well, you can get gains, if you are boosting more then the stock ones can handles, or if the stock ones are bad. Under high boost they can leak, so you loose that boost. But they do increase throttle response, & can increase turbo spooling. That's why people think it added HP.

But from a "gain" thing, nope, it is impossible for a DV to increase HP, unless the other one is leaking.

Ya know i heard that, but only if its coupled with JDM stickers and a line up will you get the PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSFFFFFFARTTTT noise.

 

True, ONLY if you attach the stickers it comes with it (or some Type-R's), then x3 occurs.
