Default EGT and A/F set up

I am more familiar with inline motors compared to the V6 setup and i have a few questions about running EGT and A/F gauges. Would you need two have two seperate wide band O2's and 2 EGT sensors, one on each side of the exhaust? or would you just take the read from one point and assume it is the same on either side? sorry if this seems dumb, i could just use some clarification on the setup for both of these because i can not find much info on this.

For EGT you use one on the number one runner and for O2 i am not sure but i think you use one also.

you can read both the EGT and the 02's in VAG com.

the EGT only reads when it passes 980 so other than that there is nothing you will see
the 02's read in volts figgure .86 is 11.5-11.7 A/F the o2's are not huge in the resolution department. If you are using a A/F gage a narrow ban is the same as the 02 readings and you can tap into the 02's for that. You only get a real reading with a wide ban but either way you really can't change the fueling all that much so I would suggest getting a narrow ban if you just want to be able to look at the A/F

plus a narrow ban is 100 and you can tap into your current 02 wiring
a wide ban is 4-500$ and you need to install a separate bung in the exhaust

i am not really worried about how much they cost. I already have a list of gauges from my previous setup on old vehicle. I have EGT, AEM EUGO wideband, boost, fuel pressure, and oil pressure, and an old narrow a/f gauge that i almost seemed useless cause it bounced around so much. i am just wondering how to go about utilizing some of these and if its worth it

EGT...no
Fuel...no
oil.....no
boost yes definitely
narrow...useless
wide ban...not really on ko3's but if you are going to ko4's then I would say sure depending on what tuner you go with...some let you adjust fuel and boost more than others

You can get a good wideband now for 200 bucks. Look into plxdevices and zeitronix which are both very good products.

I had a ztronix..good for loging but that is all. I switched to a innovate unit. I can still log with my lap top but I also get a hard gage as well. all in all tho it is kina usless once you either dial in the car or get a good tune. it is just a flashing light
