Default Engine differences between S4 and Allroad?

I'm considering purchasing either a Used s4 wagon or allroad:

What are the differences between these two in terms of engines?

Also, is there a site where I can review the major differences between engines, body and other characteristics side by side?

Finally, has anyone driven them both?

How would you characterize each (strengths / weaknesses)?

Thanks

Well obviously the s4 wagon is a direct varient of the A4, while the allroad is designed as a sort of cross over thingy sharing the A6 platform. This also means the Allroad is a little more roomy. Both have the 2.7 bi turbo, along with the A6. The motor design is the same. I know the RS4 has several stronger/modified engine components, but im nearly certain the A6, S4, and Allroad share 99% of the same engine parts. I feel the S4 is the more sport oriented and easier to upgrade of the two. Im sure you know what they both look like, so i dont need to touch on that. Really to me thats got to be half the decision, i mean why else would you buy a car? Also the allroad has a sort of adjustable suspension if that interests you.

Like i said Allroad is an SUV-Crossover type thing, and the S4 is the sportier version of the A4. Its all what your looking for.

I have driven my friends dad's Allroad, honestly he did not have the best luck with that car it broke down alot and was pretty expensive to fix. But then again he put alot of miles on it in a very short amount of time. I own an s4, its faster and more fun and in my opinion better looking.

The real difference is in the trans and the suspension (drivetrain wise). The trans has a different gear ratio and the susupention on the allroad can be adjusted (you can adjust it in VAG-com)

You can adjust the suspension in the car w/ out VAG. Theres a controll button to raise and lower it

hey the allroad can also outperform the hummer h2 on the hummer off road course, and the weird bumpers are scratch proof for off-roading

Yeah and it apparently did good on the land rover test course too. Better yet they made it with a 4.2 v8. I remember my friends dads was pretty much bullet proof and could go anywhere in the snow, they actually convinced their neighbors to get the exact same car.

If you like em you like em, im not a fan of crossovers or wagons in general

S4 will be a far more engagng and enjoyable ride on the road. Get the all-road if you plan to take it off the road or if you think you will need it frequently in deep snow. Otherwise the S4 is a much more fun and rewarding to drive vehical.
