How much does a snub really help?

Greatly if the old one is worn. When I replaced mine it made a world of difference in the smoothness of the shifting.

A tuner told me it would reduce the play by over 60%. He said its a big improvement and recommended it over a transmission brace for safety reasons. Im considering one but i think the amount of labor involved makes the install expensive.

Check out APR's website to purchase the snub mount. Contact a local installer for labor and time commitment.

APR snub mount is under $60
The AWE DTS is the alternative, but quite a bit more money - saftey is not an issue with the AWE design.

Both can be installed by you if you have general tech abilities and tools.

BTW: It is not recommended to add both a DTS and a snub mount. The resultant torque forces will be directed into the engine and into your comfort quotient as well.

Would a snub mount be of any advantage on a tip car, or am I just better off putting the money into something different?

I think it is. My snub went into an Auto car and it was still a great mod.

Cool, looks like another part has been added to the to-do list. Thanks for the opinion and quick answer.
