I'm a new forum member. I have a 2001 s4. I bought a new relay and followed the article on audidiy but it didn't fix my problem. What are the chances that I bought a faulty relay from the dealership? Is there another relay under the dash somewhere?

 

What exactly is wrong with your car?

 

When trying to use my turn signal, I get 1 blink but then it stops.

 

I replaced the turn signal relay/hazard relay above the radio but that didn't work. Are there any other relays that I should look at?

 

I'm wondering if it's possible that I purchased a brand new, but faulty, relay.

 

Yes it is possible that Audi sold you a faulty Turn signal relay but i doubt they did. As for your problem, The only thing i can suggesting is try exchanging the relay you just purchased and if that doesnt work, then you have another problem.

Can you describe the problem more?

It only blinks once all the time or just sometimes? Do the hazards work perfectly?

 

The blinker only blinks once then stops working until I shut off the keyand turn it back on again. Then it only blinks once again. The hazards work perfectly. I didn't bother checking fuses "yet" but I'm thinking if it were a blown fuse then the blinkers would work at all rather than just intermittently. Thanks

 

check the fuses and make sure that none are blown. If all the fuses are in working order i would first recommend exchanging the relay for another one from audi and try that. If that doesnt work then i dont know any other solutions except maybe an electrical problem that only audi or a independent German shop might be able to help you with.

 

I plan to hit the fuse box next. Thanks for your input.
