Default Front End Creaking

2002 S4.....getting a creaking sound when I turn the wheel....I can also hear it when I'm driving, but not as bad. It's coming from the driver's side, under my feet. Think it's something to do with the control arms but they were all replaced a year ago. Sound seems to go away if it's wet out. Thoughts?

if the control arms are put on wrong the bushings can wear prematurely..you cant tighten down the bolts unless the control arms are at ride height. tricky but its gotta be done that way. that could be your issue

possibly transmission mounts does it do it upon takeoff aswell? But its more than likely your control arms although my car was creaking and squeeking only when id turn and it turned out to be an easy fix just a bad passenger side tie rod end. Good luck hopefully it turns out something like a tie rod and not your control arms.

bottlecap is right.. just because the control arms were installed doesnt mean that they were installed correctly.. the car is at one ride height 99 percent of the time.. when its hanging from a rack its really not were the wheels rest.. button up and tighten all the control arms out of position and within a year or less the rubber bushings will be shot....

Good insight....thanks. The tie rod end were replaced at the same time as the control arms. I will post what it turns out to be.

One of the control arm bolts wasn't tightened down all the way. So far tightening that up seemed to help a lot but not entirely eliminate the issue....now I'm over sensitive to any noise coming out of the front end.
