Hey fellas,
I currently own a 350z and i will be done with the payments in 07.
I was really eyeing the S4 but is it really faster than a Z?
The look of the S4 is sexy! but i want a car that is far superior than the Z.

for what u prolly paid for ur 350z, u can buy a used s4, stage III it and it will do 185mph with handling to match for less than the price of ur 350z actually

 

I will second that.. My good buddy has a nice Z.. But he cant come close to keeping up with me.

 

Plus--the Z is a single-faceted car. It's a sports car and nothing else. The S is luxury, speed, good looks, and practicality in one car. It's an absolutely beautiful car to drive and own. Also, now seems like a good time to get one--prices are down.

 

i agree with everything that's been said above. it's a great car to drive, it's got four doors, and you can just blow by idiot ricers, which is always a great feeling!! i highly recommend it

 

On the Audi Site it shows the 0-60 is 5.3, there have been ppl on the Z forums that have gotten 5.3, 5.4 and the Z is rwd so it's harder to launch.
I wouldn't buy a used S4 i would get a new one. What are the 1/4 mile times for the S4? I also agree with the S4 being speed and luxury.

 

well depends on what years S your talking about.. stock Z vs b5 s4 stock.. the Z shoud win by a little bit. Stock Z vs chipped b5 S.. id take the S. Stock Z vs Stock b6/7 s.. Thatd prob be a toss up.. prob take teh S by a smidge.

 

i'd always choose the S. can never go wrong with it. best overall vehicle there is

 

How does the turbo s4 compare in speed and handling to the evolution. Anyone take there stage 3's to the track to see what it will run?

 

Mine is stage 3, but i have a few things i still have yet to do... nor is it necessarily tuned for the track. But i ran a 12.9@108.xx This was on a horrible track that even with AWD i was having traction issues. and my first time at the track wehre i didnt get a full complete solid run (i.e i had a good run till i missed 4th.. i finished that run with a 13.1 @97) IM guessing at a full run on that day a 12.6-12.7 should have been reached.. I still need to upgrade intercoolers and run a higher octane gas along iwth a shorter shifter for quicker throws.. with that a 12.0 could be run. There are some stage 3's that run 11's with a few more mods or weight reduction. The fastest S currently that has run that i can think of off hand is a guy with a lot of weight reduction that has run 11.05.. maybe has hit 10's now. But none of the GT cars have run yet..so well have to see hwat they can do
