Well i own a 98 audi a4 2.8 with 93000 miles and tiptronic, i saw this 2000 audi s4 black/black 6 speed with around 109000 miles. i saw a borla exhaust and a cold air intake in it because they had the bumper off because they were gonna replace the water pump and timing belt. im guessing it could be stage 2 if it has the chip. does anyone think i should go ahead and trade my car in for it?

You should give more info about the car....find out if it's stage II. Also, is this the first time the timing belt has been replaced? I sincerely hope not. How much do they want for it with and without your A4 as a trade-in.

it's a little late on the timing belt but not that bad... only once at that milage is fine and you trade yours in and still owe them how much?

they said they would sell anywhere from 11 to 12000, and i would get at least 6500 to 7500 for my car so the difference would be around 5 to 6 thousand. and i have a kicker system i might sell before i trade mycar in. How can i be aware if the car has a chip? should i test drive it and see if the rev limiter goes past 6800rpm? Im looking to get 700 for my system the system has 2 12' kicker S L7's putting out 3000 max watts and 1550rms watts. i have a 4000 want amp included, sub box, 0 guage wires, optima battery, neon light that goes in the trunk. for anyone whos interested let me know. but back to the s4 . Its black/black, 6speed, 109,000 miles, has cold air intake, borla exhaust, they told me they would sell for about 11 to 12000. im still waiting for them to finish it so i can test drive it. what should i look for when i do go to test drive it?

Just ask if its chipped or has ever been chipped. If they have the exhaust and intake i would think they probably had a chip too, but it might not be in the car now...

Read that buy guide and the FAQ and just ask questions. Your paying for the car you should find out as much about it as you can about it.

the thing is i dont think they know about s4 being stage 2 and if i asked them is it chipped and they dont know what it means then they might do some homework and find out that the car could be worth more if its putting out 300+hp. if u get what im saying.

Well stage 1 is a chip, and stage 2 is a chip and exhaust, but thats not to say everyone goes in order when upgrading. And a chip dosnt nessacarily mean its worth more. But if its APR chipped you could hold in the cruise controll button and the CEL will flash in a specific pattern. For GIAC or other i really dont know, if your alone the rev limiter could be a good check. Speed limiter might not be so good of an idea.

Ask if there are any receipts for service etc. When i bought my car everything was in with the manual in the glove compartment. Recipts for every oil change, dealer service, chipping, detailing, tint etc. Lots of paper haha.

haha. so do u guys think that i should trade and buy it or shouldi just save up and wait for a better one with low miles? 109,000 miles does seem to be a lot. i probably hav to start saving up for a new motor, new axles, and probably new turbos as soon as i buy it.

First off, I kinda find it hard to believe that someone would trade you an older model a4, for a newer model s4 unless it was beat to **** for it's entire life and is in need of some serious TLC.... Because the cost of both the cars, well there is no comparison an s4 is still holding quite a high value! Anyway, this isn't even close to a even trade you'd be tradeing for an s4!!! I don't think it's a wuestion especially with 109,000 I just reached 108,000 and I think my car is running better than when I first bought it. so without doubt I'd do it

If they're saying 11-12 I'd offer them $10,500saying something like"With all those mods it's probably been driven pretty hard."
