I just bought a 2001 Audi S4 (b5) and one of my friends keeps bragging that hes going to beat me in a race with his 2004 VW GTI...
im not sure which he has 1.8T or Vr6. My audi s4 has intake, driverter valves, exhuast, GIAC chip,...
Will he have any chance with one of those gti's?. have any of you guys raced any gti's ... i know i can kill a regular gti but what about a modified one?.,....TUrbo maybe even supercharged...


what if he got a R32... he didn;t buy the Twin turbo.. so don;t worry... but maybe he has the single turbo.. or the VF supercharger...?

Did any of your S4 owners race an R32/?

He'd have to have a ton of mods to take you down.

I've had 1.8T GTI's. They run just as fast at the 2.8L VR6's.

If he's close to stock, you'll be fine.

If he's has a sick APR 300 hp set up, you might have some trouble as the car is a bit lighter than your S4....

Run with him and show him what an S4 can do for his ego... and yours...

 

I think u will be fine, maybe loose the spare tire for the race tho, and not much gas just to make sure.

 

dont worry about it, you'll take him if he bought a gti. my buddy has a gti with exhaust, intake,down pipe, pulleys ext. i had an intake,exhaust,apr chip i wooped his ***, he wont brag anymore after he sees you pulling away lol.

 

The mods you listed should be good for 320 ~ 350 HP (93 octane) on your S4...

If we're talking a 1.8T, he's going to need quite a bit of money down on his to even match you. Also, despite his lighter frame, he's still FWD... Anything past 250 HP will have a great deal of torque-steer..

I wouldn't sweat it if I was you.

 

Also... If he strictly said GTI, it is not an R32.. If it was, he would've said R32...

you will deff smoke him with out a doubt even if the gti is chipped with the ko4 swap he is just breaking in to the 13's where as an s4 with just a giac chip on race gas ( ran a 13 flat at 110 mph with a zero to 60 of 4.5 seconds) no contest
