Since I have owned a '99 A4 (2.8QM), i've liked the look of the slightly refined S4(B5)...so I searched the internet since I am kinda limited over here(i'm still in Baghdad), found a few likely candidates, but they were priced high, I was shooting for a 2001-02 sedan with a 6 speed.

I stopped looking last week and during a call this morning with my buddy back home...he tells me has a 2001 sitting at the shop, needing some minor engine work. The current owner barely got it and doesnt want to spend the money. Here is what I was told: low miles, 6 speed, that dark dark blue exterior color, black leather, 18" Flik Wasp's, Flaken Azenis, not sure about the brakes-they aren't stock, Bilstein suspension, chipped, custom exhaust, great stereo system, tinted windows...and all mine now

I did a Carfax for it first, then called back to the shop and said yeah i'll buy it. Turns out I will be the second owner on it. Originally titled in Ohio and sold a 2nd time at an auction to a dealer in El Paso.

Not a bad deal for under $12k.

I won't be home any time soon, but I hope to get some decent pictures posted eventually.

ok, so it doesnt have low miles...then again, considering the previous cars I have owned, it's about average, just a tick under 150k...

anyhow the engine will get pulled for an intial inspection, so far it appears to have zero leaks of any kind...new turbos from ECS and exhaust manifolds for sure, samco hoses, RS4 intake manifold, fuel rail and 440cc inj's, custom intake and APR RS4 intercoolers. and thats just engine area, during the inspection they will check the timing belt, water pump, engine mounts, head gaskets, valve gaskets, clutch, and flywheel

once the engine is running smooth, then brakes and suspension will follow...i'm going to ditch the Flik Wasps in favor of some Enkei's, i'd like decent, respectable power...not a beast(had that in my Silvia), plus I still have an A4 that is going to get almost all new suspension and given an S4 look...this way I can have fun

months later update on my S4...finally convinced someone to take more photos for me, but only one was decent and the car is dirty...


...BUT...here is my wrecked A4 (thanks to a "friend") that I have to come home and get fixed somehow...

talked to the insurance company last night my time...the A4 is now totalled, I won't get to see a check until I get back home on leave...whatever money comes from that goes straight into my S4(and I already have a good sized list)
