sounds like you got the same problem that the one guy had about 5 days ago. My first guess would be the syncrhos.... hope you got some spare coin laying around.

That would be my guess... I had a similar thing happen to me back in my old for probe days. I was driving back to minneapolis frmo des moines. I got 2 miles from my house.... got to a stoplight. Started... tried to shift to second..wouldnt go... so i went to third. Then tried to go to fourth, wouldnt go. so i went to fifth.. And then to top it off i parked on a slight down hill to a dead end facing the dead end before i realized reverse wouldnt go in either.

And the synchros was it for me.. ended up with a new tranny.

good thing the dealer can take care of it... whatever it is if it isnt that wont be cheap.

another thing you could check is the transmission fluid...
I had the same problem with my RX-7 and it ended up only needing some transmission fluid.

to me i think if the clutch was going, id think youd know it. You can usually tell as gears will start to slip when yuo give it gas.... but i asssume he knows more then i do about it. Probably would be pretty lucky if it was jsut fluid. But didnt you say that the dealer was going to take care of it.. .so itd be pretty sweet if it was a new tranny..

Yeah, the dealer is taking care of it,when i took it to millinium the guy slamed it into second just to get it into gear and then let off the clutch to se if it would go anywhere and it didnt. So he was saying that they would really look into it today and let me know.He said that they might get a used tranny and put it in and i was like no i want a new one or an upgraded one.Can an rs4 clutch go into a s4 or is there no difference?
