I'm trying to find sources to determine salavage value of a pristine '03 S6 Wagon, 12K miles, recently declared complete loss by insurance. Fair amount of front end damage (estimated by adjuster at approx. $14K) and likely needs a new engine and transmission (sort of estimated at upwards of 19K). I can readily calculate the actual cash value of the car pre-accident, but I'm stumped for sources on residual/salvage value. Simplistically, is it the ACV less the cost of repair? Or are there other better sources I haven't found yet? I've checked out autosource.com and a couple others, but do not find enough (any) S6 cars totalled to be helpful. From the engine compartment back, how different is the S-wagon from the A-Wagon? Are most of the parts interchangeable? Thansk for any thoughts.
