Default Hi, all (B5 VS B6)

Hi all, new to this forum. I am in the market 4 a S4 but my delima is knowing what i need to get. i know i want an s4 but i was looking at the advantages of the 2nd generation over the 3rd gen (B5).
its like 2.7 V6 vs 4.2 v8.
The car is definately going to be modded when i get it and i have seen some very impressive videos and time slips of the modded 2.7 v6 running low 12s in the 0.25 mile IMPRESSIVE, so i am begining to wonder if itz ok to settle for the 2nd gen and the benefits i might be giving up .
gas milegae, room space etc
whatz the weight diffrence in the 2 car gens and does it upset the added hp in the 4.2 V8 B6.

I know u guys hv the answers, so letz hear it.[&o]

B6 nicer interior, newer, stiffer chassis.

B5, fast, better exterior (IMHO), much more mod friendly.

B6 will be cheaper to maintain, but sucks on gas. I can get almost 30mpg on the FW with my B5.

If you plan on modding: B5
Keep it stock: B6

The B6 has a bigger top end but the B5 has a quicker acceleration because of the different engines. I'd get a B5 [8D]since you'll get a lot better mileage and they're a lot easier to mod but remember to keep some spare cash laying around in case something blows up!

What do u mean blow up,[8D].
I know that is almost expected when running bbbbooossssttttt.
The how strong are the block wall on this things. B5.
when doing a stage 3 or 4 do u guys modify the engine internals or u use the stock engine block, i am just trying to get an idea of how strong the internal are and ho much PSI the wall, sleeves, rings, pistons etc could take before a trip to the emergency clinic $$$$$

what other engines come with the B5, u said above that they come wih different engines , i thought they all came with the 2.7 TT v6>. So if they come with different engines which ones shud i be trying to get based on what i want to do ??
- Thanks in advance

He is talking about the Turbo's & other disposable parts on the 2.7t. The blocks & internals are very, very solid. Very few people have opened up the engine, it seams to max out aorund 450whp area.

There is only one engine, he was talking about the V6 on the B5 VS the V8 on the B6.
