Does anyone know if there is a website out there that lists the temperatures of certain car's headlights. Or can anyone tell me if they know the temperature of Cadillac headlights, 300C headlights, or Lincoln Zephyr headlights. And what is illegal? Does anyone have opinions on which color temp looks the best. I'm thinking either 8k or 10k. I don't know yet.

Anything that is not OEM is illegal according to the DOT. You can get away with getting 5000k since they are used in a lot of lexus, honda, acura cars. Unless cops are ********, they will never say anything about 6000k. Anything higher you will get pulled. Although you can just say that your car came that way from the factory and they will not be able to prove otherwise.

ALL factory equipped HID cars are 4300K color temp. It is known to be the brightest temperature available.
The reason some look more colorful than others is because the projector lense and sheilds are slightly different. For instance, on my show car, I put Acura TL projectors on it, then swapped the lense, and did a slight internal modification to get a ton more color. But when you are in the car, all you see is BRIGHT white light on the ground.

Did you swap out the lights in your S? If so, how much modifying did it take to swap them. I'm looking to get some more color, I really like the TL and Zephyr color. Do you have any pictures?ORIGINAL: lambopilot

actually, 5000-5500k is the temp of sunlight. its a pure white light, the brightest there is. However, it is intended for "Off-Road use only." But there is virtually now way for a cop to write you a ticket for that unless they open up the hood, and remove bulb, where there is a big sign saying only a certified technician should change bulbs, "high voltage". So a cop cant check them. Besides, never ever heard of anyone getting in trouble for it.ORIGINAL: lambopilot
