Alright.. I went with 8000k as i wanted the blue color..goes with the theme. 3000k would be ideal if i wanted the yellow. I know the pics arent great.. camera isnt too special and i suck as a photographer but here they are.

Before

After

With fogs on

Without fogs on

Also, i got my toyguy short shifter put in.. its great, shortened the throw greatly and smooth.

Well its a HId conversion kit h7 8000k got it through vision bulbs who is a vendor on this site, look it up in the vendor classifieds/group buys section they offer us a discount. i believe you just need to include audiforums in the coupon code and then give them your username. Included in it are ballast, bulbs, harnass, and wiring normally goes close to 275, i think i got it close to 200.

I love fog lights, but i never used to use them on my S cause the fogs sucked so bad. And looked awful compared to the headlights.... Now i will use them all the time..and i am planning to do the mod to make the fogs independent of the fog lights..

looks good. how would you rate the 8k light output? I have the 6k for my lows that I purchased from visionbulbs, they are pretty good. I was thinking about doing 6000k fogs too. My lows were a bitch to install, I assume the fogs are easier to do???

Edited to add pics..

Here are some pics of my 6000k low beams (before I adjusted my beams, which were aiming too low.)

umm honestly i havent really gotten to use them in the dark yet.. I only snapped them when it got dark outside. But the 8000k will be a little bit less then the 6000k in terms of output..but theyre still 10x better then the stock lgihts. I would say no, its tougher for the fogs. didnt you just have to change out the bulbs, its not really a full conversion kit correct? the fogs arent HID to begin with, so you have to mount a harnass to hold the ballasts and then wire into the existing fog switch... that and the fog bulb housings are a pain.

I like the look on your headlights though...At some point i am going to upgrade to the 6000k bulbs..and possibly 50w ballasts for my lows.

8k looks a little to blue, but that's IMHO.

Other then that it looks great!

Wish I had fog lights....

Yeah I would def. upgrade to a 50 or 55w HID unit and some e-codes. I feel like that would really help out. The installation for my lows was a bitch, they had to bypass the old ballasts, drill into my housing, seal it up, I believe they ran the wiring through the firewall..I thought "plug n play" was less plug and more play.
Also the reason they said it was such a bitch was due to the fact that I already had xenons running, the installer said fogs would be easier. I would personally like to do my fogs myself, which will save some money.

For the fogs, don't you just have to tap the new harness into the old fog harness and tap into the battery? That and mounting the ballasts would be a pain, but wiring wise is there a lot more to it?

edit: I got a full aftermarket kit, bulbs, ballasts, relays, etc.

ahh..that would explain why yours was so much more work. Why did you go for the full aftermarket..why not just change the ballasts and moutn them in the same and new bulbs.

Yeah, mounting the harnass and then gettin gthe wires to go through nicely is the tough part.

Well if I wanted aftermarket bulbs (i.e. 5000k and up) I would have to change the ballasts, and if I wanted to change the ballasts I would have to change the relays (I am pretty sure the stock harness would not be able to connect to the new ballast). As for the new ballast fitting into the stock ballast location...that is difficult becuase the original ones are slim but wide and the new ones are a bit thicker, but smaller in size.

I'll try andpost up some pics of my setup when I can. Anyone know where I can get an h7 50W kit?
