high clutch
Hopefully I can explain this correctly. I am new to the s4, having had a TT for the last 4 years. I have a 2005 s4, and since I have had it, I cant drive it correctly. Maybe because I am so used to the TT. It feels like the clutch is high, it doesn't engage till almost at the top, which makes my car buck as I am shifting through the gears. I really have a problem in first, even have stalled, how embarrassing. I have driven a stick for over 20 years, so I know how to drive one. This car is the most powerful car I have ever had though. Not sure if that makes a difference. I fell like a 17 year old driving for the first time. Anyone else ever have that issue?
i had that problem when i got my 1.8t took me awhile to get used to it but it was my first stick but not the first time ive driven one all the others i drove fine but never had that problem with my 01 s4...i drove a 04 s4 and thought it was fine tho not to much of a difference in my book...just practice i guess lol that sounds wierd saying that to someone whos been driving a stick 20 years
i want to get a 2004 S4. i hope the clutch doesnt bite in high/ at the end as my dads renault clio does that! and its a disgrace. i have a leon cupra R and the clutch bites in right at the start - the way it should be for sporty cars. nice and short so you can snap through the gears quickly.
can anyone clear it up???!
in the LCR as soon as i start to lift the clutch it engages. when i had to drive the clio for a week, first day i got in it and i though it was broke. revving it it is stays still. u had to let the clutch almost fully in. then when i got my LCR back i almost stalled and was bucking like **** for the first minute.. hope the s4 isnt like that! thats a old grannies clutch.. totally unresponsive.

****, ive read a few reviews with bad things to say about the clutch.
im finding it hard to upgrade from leon cupra R!
M3 has **** brakes. (LCR has brembo)
S4 has **** clutch (LCR has it perfect)
and lancer evo MR... RUSTS!!!
subarus are common as muck... can anyone else suggest a 300+ BHP car??!

ooohh yeah! Check your fluid. 2nd, note if it changes if its cold compared to a long hot drive, normally does. Then, regarless, upgrade your clutch when the time is right....RS4 clutch here, I made the mistake of replacing OEM once, but now my RS4 grabs inches from the floor with authority....now I have to install SNUB and DTS, know what I mean?
