Default Hit and Run didn't run too far

I read about this too much on the forums... about how our cars get smashed and we don't even get a note not to mention money for repairs. The same thing happened to me last night. I was in the bar a couple of hours (real local place) so besides me and my friends there was only one car there parked across from me - a pickup. I don't need to describe what the hitch on a truck will do to the prestine silver hood of an Audi; needless to say the site was grotesque.
Fortunately it was easy to eliminate who the perps were, and the bartender even had an idea where they were headed. Their first names, descriptions and destination was enough for the officer to find them in about 10 minutes.
When I confronted the driver of the other car he was appologizing and saying that he never thought he hit anything, and that he thought that the bump he felt was from his malfunctioning ABS system. I knew it was bull.
It turns out the guy has three prior DUIs, an assault on an officer, and an attemted manslaughter. The guy did not have a license, so I guess now he's pretty much screwed. I just hope he had valid coverage (he told the officer he did).

That **** happens so much, I'm still resorting a hit and run from a drunk driver who hit my on my motorcycle and left me partly crippled on the pavement. Luckily someone got the tags. Hope it all goes well for you and that he actually has coverage.

I agree, no where is safe. At my school, some one backed into my friends GLI, screwed a rear fender, tail and bumper, that person just drove off. My school says, "hmm, well thats the risk you take." Such bull ****, at least this hit and runner is getting what he deserves!

I've got a secondary beater Accord that I drive at school so I don't give a **** what happens. However, my friend has an E46 M3 in perfect condition but every month he'll find a new little tap on his door or 1/4 panel. Sucks a lot.

I either ride my motorcycle which I park on the side walk or I park in an end spot next to my friend, so I luckily can keep my A6 free of dings! bummer for that M3 tho
