Default Hybrid Turbos

I have an old set of ko3s that just came out of my car and I'm interested in building hybrids from them. I tried searching google for some information, but to no avail. Does anyone know of any information floating around that can help me in my quest? Any basic stuff about their construction would be helpful. Also, what different options do I have with the ko3's and what kind of power can they hold?

What are you trying to make with them?

I'm open to any ideas really, just anything with more power than a regular ko3

the k03 has a pretty limited flow to make a hybrid out of.. most people use hybrid k04's

I really don't think making a ko3 hybrid is going tonet you any serious gains since the stock turbo doesn't flow very much air.

True storry, only thing you could do is make them more reliable which if you could do it at a cheap price.... might be a good idea. just incase one day (RIP)

Couldn't you replace the intake side with a larger housing and keep the ko3 hot side, so it spools faster while bringing in more air, or am I totally off base on this one?

normally, a ko3 hybrid will replace the hotside with a k04 or k16. the compressor wheel is bigger, and therefor can create more boost will still running at safe levels. Thats how bigger turbos work essentially. now the only reason hybrids are cheaper are because you still have the flow charecteristics of a smaller turbo, which isnt designed for high boost. Hybrids are still great turbos, but if you want true performance go ko4 or ko4/k24

or **** em all and get the gt28 kit

It still wouldn't flow enough air to make good power gains. For a better hybrid platform look into a slightly larger stock turbo like suggested.

I know there is a gt25 kit out by autospeed but is there really a gt28 kit? If so I need some info or a link to where I can check one of these out. That thing must be crazy if its real.
