Thanks for your concerns...I'm fine, no injuries. The other driver didn't have any injuries but he did have a history of heart issues so he went to the hospital to be safe. I was making a left turn at a stoplight and he was going straight in the other lane. Hit my front bumper/fender area, I would guess he was going 30-40mph, I was turning left going fairly slow, maybe 15mph. Not sure whose fault it is at this point, but since I was turning left, they'll probably have me at fault unless he ran a red light. It's hard to remember everything, such an adrenaline surge that a lot of the accident is a big blur. There was a witness, he'll clear things up.
The crash crushed so much in there, control arms, broken axle, strut (virtually all suspension components for that matter), intercooler, AC condensor and prolly the compressor as well. I could also see the timing belt and cam pully which is definitely not good. I doubt they'll attempt to repair it. However, the airbags did not deploy, the impact was far enough to the side that it didn't hit the sensors.
Anyone have an idea of what an insurance company will value this car at if they total it? Anyone totaled their S4 have experience?
What also sucks, look at the tires, they are brand new! I just had them put on, they're a nice set of Yokohama all season tires with maybe 500 miles so far. Also, that Bilstein shock and ECS coilover that you can see in the picture, brand new -- maybe 100 miles on it. Plus the alignment, that was $100. Pisses me off. Anyway, important thing is nobody was hurt. Thanks again for your concerns.
