I am new to this forum but I have always loved the S4 since I first saw one in 2000. I recently purchased a 01 s4, auto, silver with 40,000 miles on it. Mint condition. I actually have the service records of it going to the dealer every 5k. I know it doesnt mean much, but its nice. I just wanted to make sure that I have the basics down after searching around this site. With in the next couple of weeks I am going to be ordering a few things.

-Samco TBB
-Samco F-Hose
-710Ns
-GIAC Flash loader (stock, pump, race, kill/valet)
-AWE Vent Boost Gauge
-RS4 Grill
-K&N Filter
-Borla Exhaust
-Wheels... (17s) The ones on it now have some curb rash.



And as far as wheels go I am down to the following all in 17s:


Flik Lex Titanium


Enkei RS5


Enkei EVO 6 HyperBlack


Enkei RSV Silver




I have done quite a bit of searching but I still have a few questions...


---Any other manteince things I should purchase other than the hoses and DVs?

---Any actual benefit to the baileys DVs/awe air intake that make it worth while?

---Issues I should know about when having a remote start put in?

---If run the race mode on the GIAC, is it safe to do for a few passes at the drag way with 100+ octane full? I don’t plan on doing that more than once a year.

Too bad it's a Tip , but nice mileage.

Cosmetically, I like the Fliks or the Hyperblacks the best. (Not that you asked specifically, but you posted the pics ).

Stick to the 710N's.

Somebody on Audiworld just said that the K&N filter was their worst mod. Wonder what other members here say, but probably stick to stock?

Nothing else I can think of. You still have a while till the TB needs to be replaced. Good luck and good to have you here!

 

Yea its an auto but most of the 6 speeds around me have over 80k and are modded already.

So I should probably just throw a new factory air filter in it instead of the K&N.

 

well might its the worst mod in terms of an intake in general doesnt do much to the car (b5 s4 that is) From what ive seen..outside of the x-1 intake, the high flow filter is the best youve got..maybe with the darintake mod. So get/keep the filter..its like 50 bucks.. and your as good as it gets.

 

Sorry, this is somewhat irrelevant, but where would I be able to get my hands on those enkei hyperblack wheels in s4 fitment??

I can't believe intake systems for this car are worthless. Best route to go seems diverter valves, chip, and exhaust, and your car has all of the 3 already.

 

I looked them up on http://www.edgeracing.com but maybe i am off. I assumed the fitment of the a4 would be the same as the s4 for wheels.

Oh..I forgot my last question....

I have the Pioneer AVIC-N2. I saw someone that a person (on this site or aw) that used the dash kit for an 01/02 A6 and shaved/sanded it to fit. Anyone have any info on this mod. I need to put on N2 in the car. I guess it wouldnt matter what radio aslong as it was a single din install.
