Kid who bought my car is a MORON and I'm pissed (xpost)

oh yeah, I hope the kid was over 18, otherwise the paper and ink of your drafted contract doesn't mean ****... you can't hold a minor liable for his actions.
Don't you love America.
Personally, 500 bucks comes and goes, I would let it go, and sign over the title and say goodbye to the nightmare and move on.
Play it off as being a nice guy for the troubles of the power steering which you know was his fault anyways.

That's actually exactly what happened. Signed the title over yesterday and kept the wheels. He apologized when I met with him, said he was really stressed at work when he talked to me. So all and all it worked out
Just gotta get rid of the wheels now...

All's well that ends well. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Based on this story and others I've heard over the years, I'll never sell a vehicle privately- I always use whatever I might have as trade in, that way you're dealing strictly with professionals. Yeah I know they'll try their best to rip you off andyou won't get as much money for the vehicle, but it's a helluva lot easier and much less hassle in the long run. And if they're morons, as many of them can be, you'll usually know that right up front andcan always take your business elsewhere.
