Default ko3 turbo install

So I had a ko3 Installed on my 2000 s4 last year and now I'm putting on the other one. I was gonna go ko4 but will wait a little longer.( didnt want to spend the money for 2 new turbos and install). My question is how much should just the labor cost on an install of one turbo be?

well sorry for you but its not going to be much less than doing both. Same procedure but whoever does it is only doing one side that's the only difference. still figure on paying for time on an engine pull and single turbo replacement. I'd say 1400 if your lucky my k04's will cost me 1800 when I get the M6 broken in enough to drive daily while the S4 sleeps. What did it cost you last time for the other, shouldn't it be the same price?

one willl be same as two, your already gonna ahve the motor out so putitng on a second one will just cost whatever (hour or two) it takes to replace the other side and hook up the plumbing.

unless you bought the turbo already....... look into gpop shop k04's....... and do it somewhat right... if you can't "afford" to buy to real k04's

what pay 1400 a yr ago, 1400 now and then another 1400+ 2 turbos in another yr or so..... and if you bought the turbo, sell it.... use that to help pay for the 2 turbos, then once you get the newer k03 out, sell it, if the old k03 housing is good but the rest is bad, sell it someone can rebuild it, gpop might give you credit for it since you bought their turbos

I'm not sure what to do but the only reason I ended up doing it this way is because I got the new ko3 turbo for 300 bucks from my friend. Had a bad one after My mechanic looked at it doing the timing belt job. So now he has the new turbo and I dont think it's in yet. I really want to go KO4 right now but not sure if it's affordable right now. What else should I replace on the turbo setup....oil lines etc. Would it just be stupid to put 2 new Ko3's in there or if at all possible should I just go broke and put in KO4's? I'm really tempted..This really wouldnt even be a question if I wasnt getting the timing belt job, clultch master and slave, alternator, radiator and a few things more plus the 1 turbo for 4000 bucks. What to do what to do......

right now for just the parts u can get stage 3- in for car for roughly $3,000-3500
sya turbos and hardware $2800 including inlets.
then all the other small misc things (fpr and such)
but then again u need a custom tune for the K04's also
or get a stage 3- chip through giac or soemthing.
EPL in Conn. offers full stage 3- set up for $1,000 including custom tune. just need to have the turbos in the car.

I should also mention that my trans has just been completely rebuilt along with new clutch assembly so I've spent close to 10k on the car in the last few months with no real upgrades just stuff that needed and that I wanted to get done. i would hate to be disapointed with the ko3's but for another 4k to put on ko4's is just not in the budget but might just put the ko4's on this next winter. Can you tell me power gains from a ko3 to ko4?? I need to make my mind up tonight about the ko4 as my mechanic will be putting the ko3 in tomorrow.

with proper fueling intake and exhaust 2 k04's are good for mid 400's on pump gas. They are more relyable, and whatever boost you are running would be more consistant.

Also k04's, with inlets, gaskets, etc to make them bolt on is only about $2800, you probably should have just done k04's instead of new k03's IMO. The k04's will last MUCH longer and you would have the option to do fueling after to get full power out of it. just my $.02

from reading your post it sounds like you want to replace one turbo with k04 and leave the other one k03... That is not even an option, the car will probably run like crap. The turbos need to match.
