Default Little help here

I would appreciate any advice, I searched this forum for any thread related to my problem and came up empty. I have a 04 S4 I noticed I was low on coolant and at the same time whenever I start the car it hesitates turning over. When it does start it makes a slight honk, I know that may souond stupid but thats the only way I can describe it.

I thought maybe its my water pump, I dont drive the car everyday so it may sit a few days before I drive it, I only have 44,000 miles on it .

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

THANKS!

You check your fluids? Power steering? Have someone else start the car with the hood up so you can listen to where it's coming from.

You chipped? Stock? Do you have stock diverter valves?

All stock, I did have it chipped, but it was not perminent it was a trial fo 6 hour drive time. It also makes a sound when I accelerate almos like the air filter has a hole in it or its clogged.

WTF are you talking about? Do you have a 4.2L or what? Is your S4 a B6 model or do you have the B5 2.7T?
If you have the V8 that "honking" sound is one of your idler pulleys on the serpintine belt. I remember i had one hell of a time finding that one at the dealer. Its common now, the pulley gets dirt in them and makes them honk for some stupid reason.

Well i have some really bad news if you are leaking coolant slowly. There is a TSB that requires removing the engine to fix a coolant pipe on the bottom side of the motor. It requires removing both the upper and lower oil pan if im not mistaken. Hopefully thats not your fate.
