Looking to...
The Audi is an automatic...I know, its not a stick.
I took my friend to look at it tonight. Well we sat in it, it's super nice and clean. We noticed that the cup holder doesn't pop open like it's suppose to, the heater buttons were stuck on, we tried push them to turn if off, couldn't....We noticed a part of the steering column I guess you would call it; a plastic piece was half popped off, and wouldn't pop back on. We wanted to open the trunk, it didn't open, they key wouldn't move to the left or right. Check engine light came on when we started the car & there was one more thing but I can't remember right now.
So anyways he said they would give me $1500 which alright, not too bad. So we go to test drive it now..me, my friend, and the dealer in the back seat. He says something about the check engine light, and that they have to fix a few problems (He said "It's an o2 Sensor er something"), then he says the breaks are "wet" so be careful with it. I pulled out of the parking lot got it up to 40, tested the breaks a little and I had to push the damn break pedal alllll the way to the floor for the car to stop, wierd or not??
Then he tells me to go down this road, theres a nice straight away. We start going down the road, and I want to open the car up and see how much ***** it has...The speed limit was 50, I get it up to 45 and all of a sudden the dealer is like "whoa man, this isn't a mustang slow it down!" I'm like oh okay. Then he had me turn it around and take it back. All in all it was probably a 8 minute test drive. I did not get to feel the car at all really.
While test driving the car, I asked about the water pump & timing belt he said he's not sure if they have been replaced. He also said that the car has had one owner, and theres no service records of any kind.
The place I went to is in Springfield,MA called Excellence Auto. It's run by a bunch of puerto ricans (no racism). So after all that, they seem really shady, and I do NOT think I am buying that car for that much.
I think I am going to keep shopping around a bit more. I'm thinking about looking into an A6 because there's not too many S4's (which I really want) for sell in this area. If I got an A6 I would put a chip in it, and so it'd be even with an S4 in a race since the A6 is heavier, correct?
Opinions anyone??

ya bro, i would wait until you found one without any problems like the ones you had. It might be worth it to look out closer to the boston area, since there might be some out there. i know its a little farther, but I got mine in framingham, there were 2 of them actually that I saw. It's a trip, but i think it's worth it. check cars.com.. or some other the other boards/ forums in their classifieds!
yea id say it was a good idea to not buy that car. i just got an 01.5 with 96k for $10500 and it didnt have any of the problems you mentioned. only thing is ill have to do the timing belt at some point but ill do that myself because im a mech at a dealership when im not at school. and as far as an s4 not being a mustang...damn right its not it'll blow a mustang away.
if i were you id definatly wait for an s4, esspecially if thats what you really want. never settle for less or you'll just keep kicking yourself in the head for it.

What part of mass are you from sweeds4? I'm from Ware,MA. Yeah, I'm looking for an S4 with around 65-70K miles on it. I'll start looking around towards Boston, thanks for the info!
Wow. I'd pass on that car. Sounds like it's already full of problems. The breaks should bring you to a stop REALLY well. And 50mph is CAKE. I hit 90 on mine on my test drive without even realizing I was going that fast. They're hiding something I'm pretty sure.
If you shop around for a while you should be able to find a good deal. I looked for maybe a month and got mine for 12k with 84k miles on it and unmodded.
A6s are pretty zippy with a chip if you get the 2.7T. I had a chance to ride in a Stage 2 A6 and really enjoyed it.

Ok the S4 is tons faster than the A6!! Look around another S will pop up and one that's a stick and doesn't have all those annoying cosmetic problems. Just wait it out I promise the wait will be worth it.
