Default Looking to buy my first S4

I have found at a local Audi shop here a 2000 Audi S4 Nogoro Blue 6-speed with 129000 miles. The guy selling it is asking 16,500 and could be talked down if that price seems high. The car is absolutly beautiful. When I saw it I thought it was knew. He says with sale he will put on new brakes and tune it all up and put new spark plugs in.
Any thoughts to if I should get this or not? Im 18 in February, this has been my dream car since I was 13 or so. Love these cars.

that is pretty high $$$ for the mileage. And when he says tune up, does he mean just change the plugs and an air filter... because that could leave you with a lot else to do still and a lot more bills on your hands

That's a little high for 130kmi.
Find out when the timing belt was done, & find out exactly what has been done to the car.
Unless it's super clean & has every option, it's not worth much over $14k

Lastly, check your insurance before you buy it. I know it will NOT be cheap!

This is a guy I know that owns a private party Audi shop. and he never buys crap. the car in incredibly clean. the engine bay, as well as the rest of the car look mint. right out of the factory. It has 1 adult owner. and every option but NAV. By tune up he is making everything is tight and doing new brakes.

if the timing belt/water pump/ thermostat job still needs to be done your looking at another 1000$ bill right away. And honestly, people are not pulling your leg when they say check insurance... i've seen people have to pay as much as 400$! a month to have an S at age 18

He says all the service to the pumps and belts were done. And he is also doing a break job. I have also found an S4 on the forum here. that has 63k for 21.5 seems like a better deal then 130k for 16.5 Thoughts? thanks again

Also I am under my parents insurance I do understand my insurance will skyrocket with the S4. how much of a difference would it be from my current car though? My current car has the same engine.

16.5 for 130,000 is high, the other one is 5 grand more but does have lower miles obviously, but...what does the other one need, that one need a timing belt job? Why is insurance so much more...because the S logo. Theft rate is quite a bit higher on the s4's, cost to fix, a lot plays into insurance price. I had an a4 insurance was 78 a month, when I got my s4 that company wanted 412 a month for it. needless to say I switched companies.

It is actually 22.5 for the lower miles one. And I would do the timng belt and water pump at 90k mi, right?
