Looking to buy a S6
I am new to the forum, and not yet an Audi owner. I am looking to change that last part here very soon as I intend to purchase a *gently* used S6 within the next year.
The one thing which spooks me about the S6, and other direct injection engines, is the carbon build up issue. I have a hard time knowingly buying a car that is guaranteed to cost me ~1500.00 every 30K in addition to normal upkeep costs.
I have heard rumor that Audi introduced an engineering fix for the carbon build up issue with their DI engines, and I am wondering when that fix was brought to the 5.2 V10 engine.

Just make sure that you run premium fuel in the car and it should be all right. If it needs to be cleaned you can use a seafoam treatment to clean out some of the carbon build up so it won't cost $1500. Don't let this scare you away from getting the S6 especially since it is gently used.
