Default maybe im just paranoid

Ok so here it goes. When my cars just starting to get warm and i have the heat on i smell i little burning smell but it only lasts for a few minutes then goes away, but today i drive the s on a short drive maybe 10 minutes and parked it i smelled a smell from under the hood, i opened the hood and there was a weird smell coming from the passenger side of the motor between the valve cover and intake box it smells really weird my first thought was cat pee. Does anyone know if thats normal when the car isnt all the way warm or what it could be?

I am a HVAC repair man and sometimes if there is dust on your heating element, I.e. the electricheater core in your caryou will get a "funny" or"burnt toast" or "burning hair" smell coming through your supply air vents when you turn it on because the core it getting hot and it literally burns off the dust.

Now as far as the burning smell coming from under the hood I will have to differ to someone with more experience in automotive mechanics, but I would guess that it could be spilled fluid that is burning off. but again I will have to differ to someone with more expertise.

I'll agree as far as the dust on the heater core part goes. The heater core is liqiud to air not electric though.
Remove the beauty covers from the engine and look for leaks or maybe debris such as leaves or maybe even a deadanimal that may be burning when the engine is hot. It probably would be a good idea to change your cabin air filter underneath the passenger cowl if you haven't already done so.
That alonecan eliminate some of the funkyness in the air blowing in.

does it smell like burning oil at all? look at the back of the cylinder banks to see if teh cam seals or valve covers are dripping onto the turbos. Mine used to do that.

My car does the same thing! I notice the smell under the hood and through the vents. The smell in the car is stronger if I am stopped of going slow. I noticed on mine that some of the coolant joints have some red and white powdery stuff (almost like dried toothpaste) which I assume is some of our G12 coolant dried up. I can not see any of these spots still leaking though. I am going to change my cabin filter soon. Let us know if you find what it is.

I was just thinking and it could be your coolant after-run pump leaking onto the intake valley and burning off. Just another suggestion.
