Default MPG on your V8 S4

How do you do on normal driving condition? Mine is about 19MPG. Is that normal? I came from a MINI cooper S so it's kindda shock me a bit to see how S4 is drinking gas.

I had seen reviews on the gas milage..so I knew what I was getting into before I bought...but it is still shocking!!!

I keep trying to forget about how bad the mpg is....and eventually I will come to a state of peace...

but not quite yet....

neways....I have an 04 s4. 15,000 miles. Mostly highway miles. Pretty mellow driving habits, although I do like to jump on it from time to time.

So....I have never reset my trip two mpg computer. I have averaged 18.5 mpg over the 15,000 miles. I've installed a miltek fullback exhaust about 1,500 miles ago. I expected my milage to improve slightly...but that has not been the case.

So if you are getting 19mpg...I think you are doing pretty good.

If you can, don't compare mpg...just let it go and enjoy the car!!

you are right!

This is my first V8 and it's just shocked me when I was 30MPG on a MINI and now is 19MPG!!

Anyway, I love the power that I got in return.

Yeah...I had been driving a long line 4 bangers that got between 27 and 32 mpg. This is my first v8.
Like you said...gotta be happy about the power you get in return for giving up some milage.

How about ECU or chip upgrade? Do they help the milage a little or make it worst?

Not sure about how chip/ecu changes effect milage. If any change I would imagine it would be small.

I used to get about 16-17 when I first got the car. I am up to about 18-19 now. This is all mixed driving. I think that is pretty good milage for a ~400hp V8
