Question Is this to much?

Hello Everyone,

I am currently looking at a 2005 S4 with 42,000 miles on it. Its auto and loaded with everything shy of the navigation. The dealer wants $26,500. Is that a fairly good deal?

Also they can add an extended warranty for $1800 and it is suppose to be a really good one. Anyone have recommendations for a good company for extended warranties?

Thanks in advance

J

Thats a pretty fair price IMO. $1800 for an extended warranty is REALLY cheap, I'd try to find out what is actually covered and what kind of mileage it covers. I paid about $3600 for my extanded warrenty thats covers EVERYTHING until 115k through Tier One Warranty.

Who did you go through for your warranty? Have you had to use it yet? The company this deal is using is called Wynn

I'm using Tier One Warranty. I used it just after my factory warranty expired for a $800 repair for leaking valve covers and a tranny leak. They paid for it in full, minus the $100 deductible. I'm only at 45k miles so I'm sure I'll get my moneys worth by the time 115k rolls around.

I had Wynn warranty on a 2001 S-10 ZR2 I used to own. They covered everything, even a door **** that broke. But You'd have to see whats covered.

That sounds like a pretty good price given that I paid close to $50K for mine (new). It has 37K miles on it and still runs like new, so I think the B6/B7 is pretty durable. Of course try to get a better price from the seller - it never hurts to try and you could save a few grand.

Just to reiterate, having an extended warranty on these cars is definitely a plus. If you are interested, I have a 2004 S4 for sale. Car has 45K on it, and has a fully transferrable warranty through 04/10. Dolphin Gray with light silver interior and is auto (tiptronic). Looking to get around $25,800 for my S4. Let me know if you want more info. Either PM or shoot me an email at andres4567@verizon.net

I'd try to go a little lower in terms of price since it cant hurt you. But for the most part they arent over asking like a lot of other dealers when I went hunting for my S4. Some dealers were trying to sell for over 30K. I got mine for 29K from a pp, its a 2005 and had 23k miles, fully loaded shy of navi and its an auto/tiptronic.
