i just bought a 97 a4 1.8t quattro for 6 grand and its just way to slow so im thinking i might trade it in for a 2001-02 s4 any suggestions or has anyone seen one under 15 grand at a dealer with under 100,000 miles or does anyone have any suggestions on if this is a smart move. im only 20 and i priced out insurance it will only be another 100 a month not too bad.

 

I just bought a private party S4. They price from about $14,000 to $27,000 for a cherry one. Most run about $20,000-25,000 at the dealer. If you already own the A4 why not upgrade it? Spend a couple of grand on it and make it fly... There are many upgrades.....

 

Why not just upgrade the ying yang out of the A4? Or do you want to start off with a twin turbo V6 instead of a single turbo I4? I could understand that.

 

I would say just modify your car. My buddy has a 99 1.8t with 160,000 miles and a stock k03 and kills S4's just because of the way he's tuned it. No chip or anything, just knows how to build a car. I would say start looking at aftermarket parts, don't put money towards an S4.

Yup, seen them at a Dealer, however, you never stated where you are.

The S4 is going to cost more to buy, an extra $1200 a year to insure, and about double the A4 to maintain.

Look @ eBay, the boards, & Autotrader, there all in there...
Even Craigslist has a few.

 

Yeah Insurance is high, I know I pay more a month then all of you. It's insane, but check it out before you choose. It wasn't enough to sway me from getting one.

 

i got an imola yellow s4 for sale, it has 138k on it turbo's have been replaced and it runs perfect. it also is inspected. only asking 10500

heh, he's getting a GT28RS and alcohol injection by the end of winter and looking for 400+ whp. would make for an interesting race.
