Default My S4 going in for service tomorrow...

Doing oil change, but also, decided to have them check the following:

- Suspension (all around). It squeaks when going over speed bumps, and the front left corner "clunks" at low speeds when going over small bumps.

- Transmissions. Notchy and difficult to get into 1st, 2nd, and reverse gears... Moves (a lot) while on gear when accelerating/deccelerating, specially 4th gear.

- Front rotors. Warped to hell... Extremely shimmy when braking from 60+ MPH.

- Turbos. Have gotten progressively louder (specially passenger side). No noticible performance degradation, but I think their nearing the end of their useable lives.

- Engine. Slight tick (valvetrain possibly).

- Driver seat. It will move about an inch back and forth when I brake or accelerate at times.

My car's got 84k miles on it... I have an extended warranty. Wish me luck getting them to cover any items that need attention.

I'll post the results sometime next week...

This isn't Audi warranty, it's third party... They're supposed to cover anything except wear/tear... Warping is not wear and tear. There's a TSB for the 00/01 S4 regarding warping of front rotors. If they don't cover it, I'm buying new ones versus having them resurface them. They're only $106 a piece.

Yes brakes are definitely covered under warranty, but i've heard that rotors are not. Ive had both the front and rear pads replaced during routine 30k and 40k maintenances.

My drivers seat also shifts when accelerating/braking. I'ven taken it to Audi 3 times now...and it still does it. Please let me know if they find what is causing it. In my case, they first tried simply tightening everything, and when that didn't work, they replaced the seat mount. Although the seat mount helped a little, it didn't solve the problem.

My car's been at the dealer since Wednesday of last week (rescheduled from original Saturday appointment)...

Very poor communication from the dealer, they never call and when I call and speak with the service advisor he doesn't have any new information for me... Barrier Audi in Bellevue, WA. Very disappointed so far.

Anyways, rotors were not covered, and parts + labor is going to run me about $483 after tax.

As for the rest, they claim the turbos are fine (they don't sound fine to me). However, they did say 3 of the control arms are damaged, but they didn't explain what kind of damage. Also, a few gear synchros are going, but again they couldn't tell me which gears.

When my SVX was at Chaplin's Subaru for a month and a half, the service advisor would give me a call at the end of each day with a status, even if it was just to let me know they were still working on it (no new info). At least it made me feel they cared to keep me informed.

We'll see how it goes. I just hope their work isn't as bad as their customer service.

Good luck with your service !!
I guess when you say your turbos are getting louder - is there a more noticable whistling sound?? - because I am getting that as well. Power still comes on pretty strong. Hope that sound is not the notice of turbos going out.
