now, i'm looking for a B5 S4....... but don't know much about the mods for that model yet. can anyone help me out with a list of mods andbrands(and it's performance gains) that you guys recommend..... any help will be appreciated.

i know i'll be doing:

apr chip
sway bars
KW V2 coilovers
full exhaust?.......is that needed?
rims

dude before you get flamed by 100 people on this forum consideringyou had an a3 and should know that this stupid questioon has been asked 1,000,000,056 times search the forums..i mean how hard is it..the top of the s car forum there is a F.A.Q POST ..WHAT DOES THAT STAND FOR??

ex: what exhaust sounds the best, i know the performance gains, but how does it sound?

any opinion will help......

and i dont' mind getting flammed.......hell...... i don't even have an Audi

 

you cant ask opinions on sound and things tho....check out youtube, and pick the one you like best!

 

I once found a reply to this kind of question that listed a ton of popular kits and links.

 

Swaybars, coilovers (or at least a good strut/spring combo), Stage 3,full exhaust, and then spend any $$ you have left keeping it running.

1st things first, BUY A LOW MILEAGE CAR!!

Take it from someone who owns one with 125K on it... Im well on my way to replacing the entire driveline (and dont think it justbig stuff either, wheel bearings, tie rod ends, alignments, control arms, driveshafts, CV's etc get expensive, fast, even if you can do the work yourself)...

And Im sure once that is done it will eat a turbo.

 

well if you do get a low mileage B5 S4, I hope you get a good deal (by the way sorry to hear about the S3, glad youre ok)...

on my S4 i bought a new engine complete because I didnt feel a leaky engine and blown KO3's could handle a Stage 3 upgrade

first things first, make a list of what you want to do
-then decide if the car is currentlyrunning sufficiently before you start tackling the bigger things
-have a contingency plan so you can run around while the car is being worked on or just do the work in stages
-engine:
KO4's is the popular thing to doand the smart thing
chip it
exhaust work
upgraded intercoolers(maybe)
upgraded dv's(debateable)
-suspension:
coil overs
-brakes:
bigger...thats all
-transmission:
better clutch
lightened flywheel(maybe)
