Default NEED help with clutch Please, info inside

Hello everyone.

My car has an AWE Stage II clutch that has only 5k miles on it. So recently, about a week ago my clutch started to engage really close to the floor, before it engaged halfway up. It was hard to shift when cold too. It got better as it warmed up.

So I replaced the slave cylinder and bled it as per the bentley with 36.5 p.s.i of pressure (2.5 bar). I made my own pressure bleeder. I also bled it the old fashioned way by pumping up the clutch then cracking the bleeder. It was actually worse when done, can't get it into gear with the engine on.

So next I replaced the clutch Master Cylinder and bled the hell out of it. My clutch still doesn't work right.

It does get a tiny bit better when I pump the pedal and the pedal feels different.

Is my clutch toast or is there a weird procedure I don't know of.

Thanks

I had this exact same problem (and now with my K03s toasted i think I've officially experienced every B5 S4 problem ever recorded!). Replaced both cylinders - fluid was practically caked solid...replacing the cylinders and bleeding seemed to do the trick...I would say if this hasn't fixed the problem it seems verylikely that it is the clutch itself. Are you getting any slipping (more then usual)? And i notice you have the AWE stage 2. I was warned away from this clutch (because of slippage and qC issues) - but am having issues witha clutchmaster instal. You seem like your putting morer power through your tranny than I will and you are very likely stressing it a great deal more then I ever will - what was your experience - performance wise - before this problem? And how long have you had the clutch? You do seem like a good candidate for a stage 3 - and/or a clutchmaster clutch at the very least...very soory to hear of your problems and a problem like you have - that doesn't get fixed after taking mutiple effort to do so - is very frustrating...i know - I've been there...

I had an RS4 for 50k miles so this AWE stage 2 should be more than Adequate. I get no slipping.

What was our bleeding technique?

Thanks for the response

I didn't do the work - I am strictly a driver and not at all a mechanic - though I do my best to understand the basics about my cars - I just don't at all trust myself to do any of the work - I'm way too fumble fingered for one (I do wash and detail my own cars however - lol...and actually do oil, rotate tires and do basic matenence...i do a bit more on my stang as its alot more straightforward). Anyway I'll ask my mechanic if he remembers - it was about a year ago. I do remember him cursing that the fluids were so caked up in the cylinders to be like sludge. Funny i could always still shift but with the clutch all they way pressed to the floor. Hope you resolve your problem (and let us know what finally worked). Guess your withouth your Audi wheels as i have been for over a month now...I'm not used to driving my stang so much - shes a nice ride - when the weather is nice out especially...and I even took a Subaru legacy 2.5 GT in some twisties the other day with her - but I do miss my Audi power!

I am way happier working on my 2 mustangs. I am taking the tranny out now. The fluid was fine before I changed the master and slave and I bled it again. NO AIR.
