Need some help w/ easy power
I have a 2001 s4, I don't know much about to many performance upgrade beside the the obvious. chips, intakes, exhaust, turbos....
what are some smaller things i can do to make the car run better, or things that are known to go wrong that usually affect the cars performance. e.x. I read that the throttlebody boot goes bad and it could affect the boost..therefore the performance.....what other stuff could go wrong to cause performance losses, that may need fixed.....I don't have any problems now but, i want to catch them before they happen.
any input on known or expirienced problems would help and be greatly appriciated....also any input on smaller performance parts would be great too.... i'm going to work up to the bigger stuff closer to spring, but i want to take car of the smaller stuff during the winter.

Unfortuately theres no such thing as "easy power" with an S4. Aside from a chip, everything else is pretty much big bucks. But thins you can do in the meantime include the throttle body boot like you said, bi-pipe, f-hose, diverter valves, all these thins are pretty much "maintenance items". Check through the postings, youll find your answers.
Just do a search , or look threw some post, we talk about this all the time.

naw man, no downpipes...maybe you mean dv's aka divertervalves. but different manufacturers claim CLAIM btwn 20-30 hp for a set of DP's. either way, your rollin a V8, not a B-T6 so naturally some nice downpipes and catback is gona sounds extremely mean. a guy down the street from me has a b6 s4 with full exh and it sounds fantastic...go for it (go milltek for a v8!!! www.stratmosphere.com)
