Never go to jiffy lube!
Lol, after i wrote that an reviewed it i thought the same thing.
I've been in there before. I get such a kick out of the constant yelling.....FILTER OFF, FILTER ON, OIL CAP OFF, OIL CAP ON, WASHER FLUIDED ADDED......lol
they still cant get it right.
Kind of a funny story of mine.
back in 99 i was working as a mechanic. It was a slow week so i decided to take an oil change for an easy 1/2 commision hour. The truck was a 98 dodge with a 360. We had oil guns hanging from the ceiling all tapped into a 500 gallon oil tank. I put the gun in the fill cap and wedged the fill cap in the gun (kinda like jamming your gas cap in a gas pump so you dont have to stand there) The guns were kinda slow so i sometimes went to the bathroom, smoked a cigarette, or swept....whatever .
This day i helped another mechanic get the steering wheel straight for an alignment.
Took a second but i still had time. Then my X shows up crying! caught my attention and the rest is history.
66 quarts later, I hear my boss! "OH MY GOD"........LOL
Thank god the guy dropped the truck off. I drained the oil from the truck for about 1/2 hour so i could get the oil out of the heads.
Filled her back up (think it was 6.5 quarts or so...cant remember) Started it, and it smoked like nothing you have ever seen. Filled the shop with smoke, so i pulled it out and turned the entire business front into a smoke screen.
The guy picked the truck up just as it stopped smoking. He had no idea and i was to embarrassed to tell him. So he paid and went on his way.
Truth is, I was always a very good mechanic. I did very well in the field. My work was efficient, and i had alot of my own customers, and very very few mistakes. My boss was very upset when he lost me, but that day he coulda killed me.
There is no way to prevent every mistake and they're gonna happen. Hustling is good for business but it will come back to bite you every now and then.
