new to audi, any info will be helpful!
hows it goin everbody. tomorrow morning im picking up a 2000 s4. only work i've done to an audi before is my buddy had an 04 s4 and i lowered it, that was about it. i know how to wrench but know nothing about audi's. i just got out of the subaru world after 6 years or so. i can strip and rebuild a subaru with no problem and know just about everything about them and about 2 years ago i started working on toyota supras and have literally built those from rolling shells.
with all this being said. i want to know how sensitive audi's are to work on. subaru's are extremely sensitive to any engine mod. basically anything you do it requires a tune, supra's you can do quite a bit of bolt ons with no problems. i was wondering where audi's sat.
i dont plan to do a lot with the car, basically just
springs
rims
exhaust
maybe a fmic
and a tune.
any input would be helpful. thank you very much.

anywho, the Audi will be similar to the Subie as far as performance mods go. Pretty much anytime you try to change the performance characteristics, you have to let the ECU know what is happening so that it doesn't freak out. it really isn't something that is DIYable due to the complexity of the files (at least that is my understanding)
As far as wrenching goes, you should be just fine. I have limited wrenching experience and so far I have been able to DIY just about everything that needed doing with information gleaned from this, and other forums. There seems to be a pretty solid group of knowledgeable people who are more than willing to give their time to helping out.
good luck

I just purchased a 06 A6 Quattro 4.2L and their is a great street suspension package out the Koni FSD strut/shock with Eibach lowering springs, read the reviews a great street set-up including better looks 1.2" lower, and smooth ride with FSD's. Look into it Greg from Chicago
