so i just got my new Hawk brake pads and rotor from ECS and i was looking at the pads and noticed the front and the rear are the same pad... is this normal? these are stock replacement pads by the way

 

I actually just had a bunch of issues with this. The fronts have 4 pads on each side, the rears are 2 pads each side. I ordered a set of Ackebono pads for my fronts and they sent me audi a4 pads. I had to deal with the parts company for a half hour to get everything straightened out. The fronts are an 8 pad set, 4 on each side.
