New Member - 2000 S4 6-Speed
Hey guys!
I just signed up on the forums today, but I have been reading them for over a month while researching purchasing a 00-02 S4. I ended up finding a 2000 model 6-speed fully loaded for about $19,300 locally and I jumped on it with the quickness. Needless to say, it's now my new daily driver.
I own and operate a business, Ludes High Performance (www.ludeshp.com), dealing with late model Modular Mustang performance parts, and also own a 1999 Saleen Cobra with 600hp at the engine, 505rwhp, 435rwft-lbs of torque. It has a built engine, forged internals, cams, long tubes, 3" exhaust, and a Vortech blower putting out 10psi. This... is not my daily driver
So, I went to a dealer and drove the 05 S4 and an 01 S4 and came to the stunning conclusion that the new car was not worth $30,000 more when I could make the Bi-Turbo run circles around it pretty easily.
I have a local speed shop to me in Wilmington, NC called German Speed Merchants, and due to my busy schedule they will be installing most of my time consuming modifications (aside from DV's, TBB, F-Hose, and other little stuff).
I am in the process of ordering 19x8" RS4 wheels, the TBB, F-Hose, and the APR engine snub mount from Josh @ Achtuning. GSM is getting me a set of H&R coilovers, Milltek SuperDual exhaust, and a Stratmosphere shifter. I think that's pretty good for my first round of mods to the car.
Here is a brief synopsis of what I plan on doing between now and summer:
- RS4 Clutch Kit
- RS4 Front Grille (already on the way)
- RS4 Front Bumper
- Milltek Downpipes w/ cats
- HyperBoost DV's
- Wetterhauer Chip (was recommended to me as the best for daily driver cars, providing not the highest HP gains, but the best drivability)
- Stratmosphere Replacement Gauge Faces w/ Integrated Boost
I enjoy reading the forums and there are a lot of good posts full of critical information for newbies to this type of car like myself. I look forward to participating and just wanted to introduce myself and give some background so I could say my hello's to the regular posters, administrators, and moderators. Hello!
I am curious for opinions and/or suggestions for my current listing of mods that I am about to purchase, as well as recommendations for excellent retailers to purchase parts from.
That's all for now... looking forward to your replies!
Take care,
Brad Ludes

Wow, your car is goign to be hot! Sounds like some pretty nice mods are in store. You may want to think about upgrading to some coilovers soon too!
Brad
Most of my mods should be here next week by Friday. The wheels, coilovers, shifter, milltek, and diverters for sure. I'm also putting new rotors on the front and new pads, and replacing an oxygen sensor.
I'll take pictures of the car when everything is on there. I've got to get this front plate delete painted and this RS4 grill on there too.
I'll check back next week!
