Default The new ride!

Its in shipping now but heres some pics... 2000 S4 6 speed, 65k miles, new tires, pioneer dvd nav, and aftermarket autopage alarm. Got it for a steal.... 8k

Only thing it needs is a drive shaft retainer bearing which is cake for me I have access to a lift all day long. It will need a timing belt soon too since its 9 years old and never been done. Lemme know what u think.

Joe

I like it!

Definitely don't put off changing the TB, that would be a horrible christening!

ughhh so I got the car today the guy lied big time about the car. He said it needs a tire put on (included in trunk), alignment is off, needs a rear wheel bearing (included with car), might need the center bearing on the drive shaft done, there's a few scratches and dents on the car from being in the city, other than that he said it runs and drives fine.

So I get the car today. One tire on driver side rear is shot, the inner edge has a whole layer with the wire all out all the way around. The inner tube looks blown. I get in the car to drive it to the tire shop to replace it. Car drove like complete ***.... it vibrates up to 40mph then starts to be ok, but the alignment is so off it goes all over the road above 40mph. I cant figure if its the wheel bearing thats shot or the driveshaft doing that.

Anyways get to the tire shop, I told them to balance all my wheels and mount that one tire on the rear. They come back to me saying the car is a liability issue and 2 of the wheels are stuck on. So I drive it home, pull into the garage and jack it up. I start hitting the wheel with a rubber mallet and sprayed pb blaster.

After 20 minutes of smacking the hell out of it and kicking it, it came off. ******* used anti seize on the hub... I then started doing the wheel bearing since its all pressed into a new housing. I got all the way done with that except the hub bolt i didnt have a 14mm allen lol.

Then I inspected the car up on all 4's. All the tires off. Oil is dripping like mad out of the oil pan only so I think it needs a new pan and gasket. The front wheel was seized on also but finally got it off. CEL is on. Front bumper has shitty paint so I need to repaint it. Its showing yellow underneath. No turn signal in the passenger side headlight, and I think the drive shaft needs a replacing.

I then called the guy and told him everything he didnt tell me was wrong. His responses were almost all like "oh I didnt know it was leaking oil, must have just started", "The rear brakes are brand new" the rotors are stock oem and are way beyond minimum thickness. The pads have 50% life. He told me the car was completely drivable but not with the way it vibrates the car on take off.

So overall he lied to me a lot to get rid of this car. The good thing about it is, engine runs excellent, turbos spool perfect, dvd nav is awesome, stereo sounds great, interior is very nice, car shifts smooth, should be driving great after all this minor suff gets done. I think he needs reimburse me for some of the issues I wasnt told about.
