Pretty pumped right now. Just bought an 06 S4 with 12k miles. Black on black w/ navi, carbon fiber trim, tiptronic trans. Should have it later this week. Performance upgrades or exterior first, that is the question?

Deciding between a full APR exhaust with ECU or wheels and tires. Having trouble deciding on which wheels I like. Anyone have any recommendations on places to look?

So, I read the S4 FAQ and found the places to shop. Sorry, got a noob here.

Welcome to the club! Sounds like an awesome right so get some pictures up!

I prefer AWE over APR, but thats my opinion. I think they hit a better note with their exhaust. Personally I'd go with the exhaust/ECU combo and throw in some tint. For the biggest bang for the buck look into a stiffer rear sway from neuspeed or I hear the factory RS4 sway is a great alternative and you save $100 compared to the neuspeed.

Ditto on the rear sway. Definitely biggest bang for the buck. On the rims, don't skimp on price if you live around a lot of potholes. I made that mistake and ended up replacing them numerous times because they got bent. I spent more money to get BBS and they're great. Light weight and very strong. On the exhaust, I have the full set up with Miltek (resonated) and the sound is great. Save a little money for a new stereo - you're going to want one soon if you like your music loud.

yes4 did you get some new tint? Couldve sworn you had 30-35% or something rather than 20%??

picking up the car tomorrow during the giant rainstorm about to pound the Southeast. Getting some money back (no ****) from the dealer which is enough for the rear sway bar so that works out great.

It's always been 20%. Not legal for the front in CA but I've only gotten one ticket on it so far.

Ski, I actually like those stock rims - if I were you I'd put the money elsewhere. Slam that baby! Get some adjustable coilovers and bring it down about 1.5" - looks cool and handling is nice. Toss-up between that and exhaust.

picked it up today. tint is 30% hope that passes the NC inspection. have to find someone who can fudge on the percentage for me. as far as the ride goes, OMG. Why haven't I bought a S4 before now? Stock exhaust sounds great, fast as ****, and black on black with 30% tint is nice. Will go with rims, springs, and F&R sway bars first. Then maybe drop more loot on ECU, exhaust and intake.
