o ya, sry man, i didnt see the unmbers in with the new s8, and i totally understand waht ur talking about. I was talking about torque, but now that i look back at it i realize that the w12 will still prolly be faster. And whatever else i was talking about, im still trying to figure out what i said b4... haha.

 

The "two cylinders side my side" is a good explanation for the phsyical configuration of a W motor, but as far as the mechanical aspect goes, not really.

A car with more horsepower isn't nessecarily faster, you have to take things like torque, the powerband, power-weight ratio, final drive ratio, etc.

I think the W12 would be nice to have because the level of exclusiveness. I havent looked at the stats, but if that big sedan really does 0-60 in the low 5's, I am sure its got a fun, torquey punch.

 

the w12 is exclusive, but the s8 will be just as exclusive, and will be more exclusive at first because the w12 has already been out for a while an people already have them. not many people but 100k+ cars, and if they do it is usually be a sports car, so they wil both be very exclusive. I bet an s8 with options will end up being very close to a w12. I personally would rather have the s8 because i like how it looks better, hte w12 looks almost the same to me as the regular a8, so not many would know what you are driving, but then again 99% of the people on the road woujld know what an s8 is lol.

 

I've gone on record here, befroe, in these VERY forums as saying that I will NOT be satisfied until AUDI does a QUAD-TURBO W12 RS8... <insert whatever insane HP & TQ figures you want, here> ...so I can go around chasing Ferrari & Porsche drivers up and down the local parkways

umm i beg to differ. There is this lil car called the buggati Veyron and it has a quad turbo W16, but i see where ur going. No car for under a million (that i know of)

I was sitting in a W12 today. Most incredible car Ive ever been in. To many thing to say about it.
And btw damianwoz , with those MB's , all that power and RWD = too much wheel spin for my tastes.
