NO BOOST NO POWER MAJOR RICH SMOKE COMING FROM EXHAUST
I just bought this 2002 S4 with 33,000 miles on it. The car is perfect! It is chipped, intake and catback. The car was fast as hell for a day.... Obviously this was a mistake, but i tried brake boosting just to see if it was any better. (im guessing i blew of a vacuum lines.... or the wastegates are stuck open?) I had my foot on the brake, started to touch the gas and the car almost stalled from 4000 rpms imediately. The car then had no power, was making a noise that sounds slightly like a vacuum leak (changes tones with RPM) and it has absolutely no power at all. It is not making any boost but i can still hear some turbo spool. I tried to look at all of the vaccuum lines that i could and they all seemed to be intact. The engine finally threw a code and i will go find out what it is tomorrow. For now can anyone give me ANY advice on what this may be? HELP PLEASE!
oh yea... i pulled in my driveway and it was pumping out a good amount of mass black/ bluish smoke... but it did not smell like oil, it smelled like raw fuel and stung my nose!
If the turbos were blown i would assume that there would be a very obvious and loud schreeching coming from the turbos, then again just because its not noisy dosnt mean its not blown. And whiteish smoke i believe is a characteristic of blown turbos.
Grey/Black smoke is fuel.
Limp mode would explain the low boost, could also be a boost leak or a bad N75, but what you NEED to do is find someone with a vag-com and good knowledge of logging and what codes to look for, it could be a number of different things. Get it checked out soon though becasue its never good to run your car for long with an issue like that.
Make sure to come back and let us know what it was

Do you have a CEL on? Have you checked for any codes?
It sounds like a BIG boost leak, or turbo failure, but you can't really build boost from trasnbrakeing.
I would start with the TBB & DV's & if you don't know what they are, read the FAQ.
If you keep running it like this, you will MELT your cats, & have a whole other set of problems.

I just had the code run at Autozone and i came up with a P0139 Which was Bank 1 post cat o2 sensor fault ( it was a delayed read time or something of that matter). I have checked the TBB, DV's, vaccuum lines and cleaned the MAF sensor as the previous owner had a junk filter on it and it was misted with very fine dust (the TB was clean though, and so were the rest of the turbo intake tubes) I am beginnning to think on of the n75's? i disconnected the battery last night for a couple hours assuming that the car may have been in limp mode. It put out the CEL but the car still ran the same. Thats all i know.
sorry... i meant n75 not n75's above there....anyways. i got under the car to check the boost hose clamps and i was looking at the turbos. the passenger side turbo is covered in oil and it is leaking from the exhaust side (no oil in the intake side)... im thinking it is time to rebuild, i just dont understand how it could have happened so soon! anyways, does anyone know anywhere that is reputable and reasonable to rebuild this turbo if i take it out myself (im kinda short on cash since i just bought the thing)?
