Default NOT invincible

I was coming back from the dealer today and took the windy, scenic route home. There are lots of 20-25mph turns and the road is narrow and bumpy. I've had my B7 S4 for about 3 months and was starting to think that the thing was glued to the road no matter how hard I pushed. Well, today I was proven wrong when going through a switchback. On a hard left, the right-side wheels both went into the dirt and the back end started to come around. I was able to get it back on the road before going off into the cow pastures or hitting any fence posts, and consider myself very lucky. Thank God there weren't any cars coming in the other direction. I've had RWD cars and once the back end kicks out you might as well give it up (or turn into it, like the DMV book says), let alone being in the dirt. With the S4, the car came out of it beautifully and saved my stupid *** from some very bad consequences. I've said here before that I love my car - now consider that doubled.
