i have had my 2000 S4 for almost a week now. the wheels are a little scratched up and i was thinking about having them repainted to look new. i know a few places around the charlotte area that would do it but would charge around $125 per wheel. if i'm going to speend $500 to have them repainted why not go ahead and spend a little more and replace them altogether? the car is silver exterior with gray/silver interior. any opinions on what finish type i should look at? i dont think i would like the way chrome would look on the car. gunmetal looks good in pictures but i dont know how it would look with a silver car. any opinions or pics would be appreciated!

Is there an easy way to maybe smoke 'em a little to make them look almost like gunmetal or something?

you cna get them painted/powdercoated. I have a friend that did it to his stock s4 wheels with a cheap wheel paint that actually turned out pretty good.. but i dont know how long it will hold.. or you can have it done with an actual powdercoat for something like 100-150 a wheel.

I dunno man, I'm a fan of the stock wheel color and the ones I have seen that are darkened don't complement the car well at all. I would say for the price of getting them repainted you should just get yourself some nice new wheels to show off.
RE: OEM wheel opinions
i'm gonna have to agree. just get some nice new wheels. if you love your car, then you would be more than willing to show off. just don't be stupid and get a ridiculously oversized wheel.
